Los Angeles isn't cheap but he was making $300k. He didn't need to drive an hour away, lol. And frankly, the further you get from LA, the more expensive it gets. He could have lived in SaMo, easy or any of the beach cities. It wasn't about money so much as going home, being closer to family, working for O, having more responsibility.

Stop it. I've lived on the left coast. Pound for pound, item for item it far less expensive once you move towards the middle. I once talked to a guy that was forced out of his job in the valley. With what they paid him for his modest home he was able to buy half of Yuma Az. Now, of course it is Yuma, unless you like lettuce there isn't much there but at least he bought a lot of it.

Moral of the story: You can buy a lot of lettuce with a lot of lettuce

You know what's crazy, in my home town housing is just as expensive as it is in the Dallas Fort Worth suburbs. It's stupid.
