    Apples and oranges.

Everybody knows who Bobby Jindal is. He's never made any bones about it. He's never made any secret of his Indian heritage. His parents were immigrants (I know and have worked with his father), worked hard, assimilated into our culture, and he was born here in the US. And he chooses to go by Bobby.

With Barack Hussein Obama, you have a candidate whose background is, to put it kindly, a tad murky. And he apparently wants to keep it that way, because, IMHO, he knows that the less people know about him, the better his chances are. Hell, his whole "Hope and Change" platform is AIMED at the typical uninformed voter, who hasn't the first clue as to what that rhetoric means (absolutely nothing)...but in our sound-byte society, it sure sounds good.

Exactly! Plus, Bobby (Singh) Jindal doesn't scare the hell out of me. I know where he's coming from and I'm not concerned about where he came from.

My main beef with "Skippy" Obama is his lack of experience and his seeming arrogance despite having nothing to back it up with except for a fine speech at the Liberal Convention 4 years ago. It has nothing to do with his heritage, though in this day and age I would rather not have a raghead name if I'm running for something.

Oh, please. Jindalisbad.com? Now who's picking and choosing what to believe?

Pardon me. I didn't realize this was intended to be a Jindal bashing thread.

You're almost as bad as the real Rex.

Using his middle name is just another GOP scare tatic, to say oh hes not like us. "Oh look at his name, hes not one of us, hes not middle america, his last name isnt Johnson, no matter what ideas he has"

    Complete bs in my opinion.

I think we all know the answer to this question, so I'll say it.

He uses it because it scares people and it's an unelectable name. Is it a cheap shot? Probably. Does it work? Sure, can't hurt. It's just the same as all the other cheap shots in politics. Mccain won't use his name directly but he loves when other people do. It's just like everyone saying Mccain is a clone of bush. Scare tactics that simply aren't true. Just because they have an (R) behind their name doesn't make them the same just as Barack and Sadam having the same name doesn't make them the same.
