All you Hi-Def guys get me jealous. I was a few weeks away from getting a Hi-Def TV in New Orleans. Now, I am probably a few months away.
I will commiserate with you, Chef. I don't have it either. A friend on the West Bank had it and I was blown away by it.
I work in a job that has me working with HD and Standard Def. very very closely on a daily basis. I get to watch it uncompressed. That sounds great... until I go home and have to watch that crappy compressed signal that they pipe into my home. HD in the home is all great and everything, but uncompressed HD straight from the camera is un-bee-leave-able. You would be pretty surprised how really nice SD is if they would send it to your home uncompressed. I love the 16x9 aspect ratio, but HD feels almost like overkill. It makes you sort of giddy at times when you see some of the amazing video those cameras produce (but then again, I sort of get into this stuff). HD has been awesome for the sports TV industry.
