Auburn President resigns over coaching mess up

I knew he was a she, because she said she was married to a bama man with a bama mother in-law...etc. Thats why I was being "out of character" nice. Had she been a he, it would have been very nasty a long time ago. He would not be hanging around this Champions board. I guess SOS was right, they just want to be associated Champions.

I dont really give a damn what state a recruit is from as long as hes good for the team. And either way, to me the news that Walker resigned outweighs anything else. Him stepping down is a step in the right direction for the University as a whole.

Get real Morgan. You cannot seriously say that you, as an Auburn football fan, are not seriously concerned that Bama, with all of their troubles, is putting a fence around the state? You know damn well that you cannot win at a high level if you do not recruit successfully in your own backyard.

As long as we are recruiting as good of players out of state, as the ones in state and we still fill the positions we need to fill, and get some of the key players in the state, No I honestly dont care. Alabama has had a strangle-hold on the state for decades now, and yes it blows as an AU fan. This state will never even get to the point where our fanbases break even. Its about 70/30 here, and IMO I dont really ever see it getting any closer than 60/40. How can you compete with bandwagon fans who have been telling their kids since birth to pull for Bama?? Lets face it, what Bama did in "the glory day" will most likely never be done again, so they will always be known for that. And right now, Bama is offering all those kids almost instant playing time and AU isnt. Thats a big thing swaying kids over there. And I myself didnt grow up in a very talent rich area of the state, so I never heard much about all the great in-state talent. I know its there, the trouble is all the great high-school talent in state is mostly in and around Birmingham, which has to be the most Bama saturated area of the state. Even the broadcasters on the news there arent afraid to speak through their crimson colored glasses on air.

No excuses, just MY opinion, and I know that holds no merit here, but you asked so I told you how I feel about it.

You need to change your school's name to UL-Auburn.
