And yours shows how dim some Auburn fans can be, let me guess you also think your kicker will be out because the Golden Girls kicked his butt? It was a flame, a joke, duh......:dis:

    Mock Turtle Necks

    Everyone,

I know the subject of this thread is "how to properly flame," but when I read the part about Saban and his mock turtle necks I immediately thought of Randy Quaid with his black "dickie" under a white v-neck sweater in the movie Christmas Vacation. That scene cracks me every time.

Of course, the next picture in my mind was Nick on the sidelines before a game taping a shampoo commercial while wearing a white v-neck sweater complete with a purple "dickie" underneath that has the letters LSU on the collar.

That poster has a good sense of humor. All of this stuff about the bad blood between LSU and AU is getting to the point where too much attention or emphasis is being placed on it and I fear that it will eventually begin to detract from the excitement and spirit of the actual game. This whole thing is set up for a Jerry Springer episode. I am almost expecting to see AU's worst fan and LSU's worst fan on that show any day now with the bouncers in between them and the audience chanting "Jerry" "Jerry."

I think it is good for us to step back and remember that this is still a college football game and that a match up between two old rivals is a reason for us fans to celebrate the athletes and the contest itself, rather than to enter into combat with one another.

I am sorry about going into all of that. I really just wanted to say that the post was funny especially the mock turtle neck part.

    Take care everyone,
    Dave

I think we are moving in the right direction though. Last years game in Auburn went a long in cooling things down. There were no incidents between fans that I heard about, and most people remember Tubby taking a knee. If tomorrow goes well, with no major problems, I think it may begin to turn a little more civil. Of course, you never know what kind of stories will surface throughout next week.

Sure to be one of the classic posts of this year. The sort we will talk about next year and beyond in reference to some of the great posts we've read.

I know I am impressed, but the Lord of the Rings reference is a little, oh I don't know "geeky"

    Re: Mock Turtle Necks

Cracks me up every time too. I saw Quaid in a serious drama role the other night and I kept chuckling thinking of him in his black dickie and loading up the shopping cart with dog food.:D :D
