Yes, all the lswho fans knew it all along. "Tuberville is only good for 7-8 wins a season." And now he blew it again, completely screwed our season...damn him!! That classless azzhole...he won an SEC championship, going 12-0. Huh?

Dude, we could've beat UT by 30 and still not gone to Miami...but I'll let you spin it any way you want. You're an lswho fan, afterall.

You're kidding right? The SEC is also down this year. The typical bottom dweller SEC teams are even worse than normal this year and TN struggled against two of them. (Vandy and KY) The typical midlevel SEC teams are down this year. TN also lost to Notre Dame. TN gave up tons of yardage against Vandy and KY. It's unfortunate that the 5th best team in the SEC was in the championship game.

Yeah but that 9-3 team struggled against Vandy and KY. TN has a very poor defense.

It amazes me that seveal posters here would rather see a free ride USC team go to the NC over a undeafeted SEC West team over "comments" made a few years ago. The stomping on the eye of the tiger was done in an empty Tiger Stadium where AU proceeded to get thrashed after suffering a 15 yard peanalty to start the game. But we each have out thing. Nothing against anybody just my thoughts maybe I am missing something. I hope OU stomps a mud hole and physically dominates USC and AU convincingly beats UM so USC goes to #3.

    What irony.

Seems alot of LSU fans are buying-in to the media hype. The same hype they so roundly criticized last season for it's obvious inequities in evaluating SEC teams. Big Media has steadfastly pimped the USC-OU game all season, so why would it come as a surprise that they would get they want? So much the better if they can justify it to a lazy, unsuspecting public, right?

Two examples. If you listen to the media, Cal and Jeff Tedford have been the best thing since sliced bread - the media has "propped up" Cal for one primary reason..... it supports their USC agenda, something I'm certain that everyone on this board is intimately familiar with. And we saw yesterday that Cal would be no better than an average SEC team. Southern Miss did a damn-damn on Cal and nearly took their manhood.

All I've heard from Big Media is about the SOS as determined by the computer polls. Anybody wonder how the computer polls could have the SEC ranked as the 4th or 5th best conference when we all know - without a doubt - that the SEC is no worse than 2nd-3rd......anybody?..... Beuller?

The dirty little secret of the computer polls is the way they look at home field. Did you realize that the SEC is unfairly weighted because of home field? One of the characteristics of SEC programs not shared by other conferences is the size of our capital budgets - it costs a ton to build and maintain these big stadiums that are only in use 3/4 of the year. As a consequence, SEC teams typicaly play an extra home game whenever possible. It's simply a revenue-production requirement. Does USC have this responsibility?...this commitment? Hardly.

A stat published by Tony Barnhart in Friday's AJC stated that the SEC was considered a weak conference because of it's performance against quality non-conference opponents. He stated that against quality teams, defined as teams with 7 or more wins, the SEC was a collective 3-5 and characterized the SEC's performance as poor.

Let's examine the out of conference SOS issue a little more closely. If the SEC went 36% (5 out of 8) , how did the other conferences do? The answer is that the Pac-10 is 38% and the Big 12 is a whopping 8% . Getting the picture now?

Don't believe the strength of conference crap that media is trying to ram down the throats of an unsuspecting public.......

USC was handed the Orange Bowl slot in pre-season. OU was handed the other slot. They held up their end by going undefeated. There is nothing Auburn (or any other team for that matter) could have done to unseat those two. That's just the way it is. I want OU to destroy the Trojans. I want Auburn to destroy Va. Tech. I want USC to be no higher than #3.
Next year, USC and some other team will be 1-2 again. If neither of them lose, the BCS Championship game will again be determined by the pre-season human polls.

Uh, actually, the stadium was far from empty. I occupied one of those Tiger Stadium seats and, along with tens of thousands of my friends, watched them stomp on the Tiger...

IMO, this is not about Auburn, it's about the SEC. I've always thought it was a no brainer that an undefeated SEC team would be playing for the MNC. Does anyone really believe the Pac 10 is better than the SEC?

To those who are saying that the SEC is down, I urge you to look hard at the teams in the Pac-10. Cal proved last night that aren't as good as everyone thinks. Outside of USC, the Pac 10 is a very poor conference. Tenn, with a 3rd string QB, would be the 2nd best team in the Pac 10.

OU deserves to be in Miami ... and so does an undefeated SEC team. I know many here dislike Auburn becuase of Tubby, but this is not about him. Should Leinhart return next season, they'll be ranked ahead of LSU and the same thing could happen to us.

You can be happy about Auburn being screwed, but don't whine next year if it's LSU left out...
