    Signed, Terell Pryor

This has nothing to do with high school stats. This has to do with the type of person Shep is. RP can’t hold his jock when it comes to that. FYI, you don’t have to start to be a leader. However, he’ll see the field more than you think.

HAS Terrelle Pryor really been that great? Or is he just the best option where he is? I tend to think the latter. Boeckman was always bad.

All I'm saying is that in order to lead, you have to have the respect of those you are leading. Respect has to earned. Earning respect takes time. It's not automatic, no matter who you are. Dorsey wasn't a leader until he had proven himself time and time again in the field of battle. The same is true for Hester and Flynn.

Uh, yes. He's been doing a good job making plays, developing as a player, and most of all lighting a fire under his teams butt.

Earning respect does take time. Shepard seems to be one of those people who gains respect very quickly. It's because of the way he carries himself, his athletic prowess, and most of all -- his attitude.

Attitudes are contagious. Whether he's on the field or on the bench he's going to positively impact this team in a huge way.

why did the seniors even come back for another year if they were just going to loaf it all year. damn the senior leadership, where in the hell was the leadership from the coaching staff. this infuriates me.

I honestly think you are reading way too much into it. The team hasn't practiced in weeks, of course their first practice after weeks off is going to seem "intense." Yes, I can see how you look at what Big Herm said and conclude that the players were lackadaisical all year long, that the coaches never yelled at people or got in player's faces all year long, etc.

But if they went to the next LSU football player and told him that Big Herm just said that the team and coaches have been lackadaisical in practice all year long, that the players haven't hustled all year long, that the coaches haven't yelled at anybody--I wouldn't be surprised if that player said: "I have no idea what he is talking about... the coaches have been busting my butt all year long."

If they would have pressed Big Herm, and asked him "are you saying that the LSU coaches and team have not been intense until this practice?" -- I wouldn't be surprised if Big Herm responded: "uh, uh, durr, I didn't mean it like that, of course this isn't the first intense practice we have had this season."

To me, Big Herm is just communicating that this practice seemed very intense to him, which is not surprising being that he has been off practice for weeks. I believe him that there have been instances this year were he thought the players and/or the coaches were being too lackadaisical and I guarantee you that there have been other practices this year that were very intense (you think those practices in the lead-up to the game against #1 Alabama weren't intense???).

Winner. I don't know if Shep has it, but it has way more to do with attitude than with age. Some guys learn to be leaders, but the great ones are born with it.

Coaches are responsible for the atmosphere that's conducive to players developing into leaders.

I'm gonna trust Miles to make the changes in assistants and attiudes to get us back on track.

There's a fine line between discipine and going overboard. A good example of this is Dinardo. After his first losing season, he refused to make changes to his staff, closed ranks and ran severe practices. He lost his team and then his job.

Hope Miles doesn't make the same mistakes.

    Couldn't agree more.

I wish people would stop anointing Shepard the savior of LSU.

He hasn't played one down of college ball, but yet he's gonna be a four-year starter???

I've said before, i hope Miles/Crowton use Shep much like Florida uses Harvin. Or similar to how they used Tebow his freshman year.

Besides, Miles doesn't start true freshman right away to begin with.

This. It has a lot to do with his outgoing personality and the fact that he gives daily updates to every website and newspaper in the US. Kid has a ton of athleticism, but it's not like he is the most polished QB of all-time. Give the boy some time to develop.

What I am expecting to happen.
