    The cops are gonna walk bc it was by the book. Then they’ll sue the city for being fired and win.

    I would have let him run. Better, I would have called him an Uber and had them take him home and impounded his car till the next morning.

    i think the trouble there is he is drunk driving while on some sort of special parole from jail. he beats children or something

    @onceanlsufan The Defund the Police crowd says we can make everything better with community policing. I see people out there saying,"Why didn't the cops call one of Rayshaun's friends of family and let them come pick him up? Why did you have to start a problem by trying to arrest him?" First of all, that's the police's job, enforcing the law, not being a taxi dispatching service. Second, if the "community policing" model is so much better, why didn't one of the people who saw Rayshaun sleeping in his car go knock on his car window and offer to call him a ride? No one did that, but someone did call the police. Probably because they were more concerned with the fact that someone sleeping in the line was making them have to wait longer for their double burger. Community policing will depend on everyone putting someone else's needs ahead of their own. The problem with that is there will always be selfish bastards out there.
