i like this thread title, because atheism really is ignorance, a lack of knowledge. sometimes when knowledge isnt available, it is better to accept that you are ignorant, rather then invent answers to believe, without evidence.
there is no official explanation. there are lots of ideas and theories. none of them are proven. i guess we can figure out which one seems most plausible and go with that one, or just shrug our shoulders and forget about it. the big bang theory is based on evidence that the universe is expanding. you reverse time and it appears that everything is moving away from a point, presumably where the big bang happened. but i am no big bang zealot, and i dont take it on faith. maybe big bang happened, maybe it didnt. i have nothing invested in it. if they reverse it tomorrow i am happy for them and i will continue on about my business. of course the christian does not have that luxury and must stick to his guns regardless of evidence. that must be frustrating. but the payoff (heaven) is probably worth it. what caused your god? there has to be a cause for him right? why does he get to be eternal, when everything else needs a cause? maybe the tiny superdense whatchamacallit that busted out for the big bang was always there, just like jeebus. when i was gone it was a sad and empty time. i almost turned to the lord.
