    i will speak for martin.
atheists do not assert this. they assert that god does not exist.

atheists do not assert this. they assert that god does not exist. certainly the universe was created and there must be a creator, but that could be a phenomenon, it doesn't have to be a deity.

    hogwash.

No..no..no..martin doesn't get a voice red. Play by the rules, or don't play at all.

    My definition of "phenomenon"...God.

What is the "official" explaination of how the universe came to exist red? And don't just say big bang. Just what do they think caused said "big bang"? There has to be a cause, right? Nothing just doesn't become something, right?

Wow, what a time for this article:

    http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/04/03/collins.commentary/index.html
Collins: Why this scientist believes in God

ROCKVILLE, Maryland (CNN) -- I am a scientist and a believer, and I find no conflict between those world views.
As the director of the Human Genome Project, I have led a consortium of scientists to read out the 3.1 billion letters of the human genome, our own DNA instruction book. As a believer, I see DNA, the information molecule of all living things, as God's language, and the elegance and complexity of our own bodies and the rest of nature as a reflection of God's plan. ......

As the British writer G.K. Chesterton famously remarked, "Atheism is the most daring of all dogmas, for it is the assertion of a universal negative."

Atheism is not the answer. God and Big Government is the answer. We need more taxes and regulations so that we can be all alike, the same. Socialized Medicine and Social Security benefits to be free for everyone. Everyone will become Unitarians so each person can have his own little religion. And the Mets should move to California.

We also need more farm subsidies and protective tariffs so we can save our vital manufacturing jobs.
