Tino Martinez swore last nite on Baseball Tonight that the Pujols home run would turn the Cardinals around and they would come out loose and start hitting.

Oh well, Tino. Too bad that was a homer call on your part. Dumbass.

    It's in the stars

Man what a run by the Stros. 9 in a row. I didn't think last night's game would ever get over. St Louis has choked on the div bone. What a total collapse. Sad if the Stros don't since make the playoffs since they have to win the division and have no shot at another WC. Hope Houston can pull this off. I think they will. They are playing the best ball in the NL and MLB right now. They are certainly getting hot at the right time. Rocket on the mound tomorrow.

Central will face the West...SD or LA?

If the Dodgers can win the wild card, which they are in the lead right now by 1 1/2 games over Philly, then the Stros would face the Padres. If the Phillies win the WC, the Astros face the Mets.

Basically the wildcard cannot face the winner of its own division in the first round of the playoffs.

But at this point, I would rather face the Mets. They don't have the starting pitching anymore to carry them thru the playoffs.

Davis ended up with 8 walks in 6 innings, yet only gave up 1 run

You think the Cardinals are pressing at the plate, just maybe? my goodness

I'm thinking the West will produce the WC and the Phillies will not get in, but playing the Mets w/o Pedro would be good, maybe it would better to face Pedro the way he has been throwing of late.

Pedro tore his calf muscle, he will not be on the Mets post season roster.

Enter John Maine, Steve Trachsel, Oliver Perez, take your pick.....ouch!

Actually 2 of those 3 will be forced into the rotation to join Glavine and El Duque

tendon in his calf muscle. the other calf was the one bothering him before so both are shot. surprised he was able to pitch at all.

    el duque is #1, glavine #2, probably Maine/Trachsel 3 and 4.

oliver will be no part of that if they have half a braincell. i wouldnt have him on the roster at all.

regarding albers, I heard that earlier today. please tell me it cannot happen.

Milwaukee bullpen trying to give this one away (like I feared)

9-4, men on 2nd and 3rd....Pujols on Deck

luckily he gets Duncan out before Pujols can jack another big one out the park

    whew!

    disaster averted
