Playing devil's advocate, the lack of an experienced passing game could hurt our running game. If I was an opposing defense aginast LSU, I would stack the line on 1st down and force LSU to try to throw the ball. A freshman QB aubibling is not likely. If a run play is called, then that's what we will have to run. Get us in lots of 3rd and long situations. I am not saying that's what will happen, but you must consider it. I think this ultimately puts pressure on the O-Line to perform. We will have to open up holes for our running game to allow us to either pass or run on 2nd and 3rd downs. Thank goodness McGill and Niswanger has some experience.
If he does not return, Matt Mauck has already established a legacy at LSU that few, if any, of us could have envisioned when he signed here. Kids who followed LSU as it captured the national title will years from now remember Matt Mauck the way guys my age remember another certain dentist who left a legacy at LSU in the 50s.
TigerEducated: I agree that your posts are entertaining and it's obvious that you are educated. I’m in no position to match wits with you. Why would you demean someone that is excited about his girlfriend talking to Matt and his fiancé? I don’t give a rats rear if he misspells some words. Does this make you feel like a bigger person for doing this? Have you ever considered that it’s better to treat people like you want to be treated? You remind me of a former high school coach/English teacher now principle at a SW Louisiana high school. This person has an income complex. His wife is a high school math teacher in Texas. Although they are more educated, my income far exceeds their combined income and he had a serious problem with that. I thought we were good friends. He did something for me and I mailed him a thank you card. He promptly return mailed the card to me. He circled every error that I had made in red ink. He stated that I was an embarrassment. I thanked him for his kind remarks. I could have lashed back, but our daughters were baton twirlers on a team and friends. I have never viewed this person as I once did, and as for his insult I just consider the source now. I do despise talking down to people that do not deserve it. You could have sent a private email if that type of thing bothers you. I guess instead of being a rectum, we’re now aware that you are indeed an educated rectum.
Hmmm...My point is that someone's going to talk about someone else making a DUMB decision about making MILLIONS...and he's on an internet message board misspelling words and acting as if he's more knowledgeable than Nick Saban, or even better, the resources that Clayton has spoken to (Which obviously Mr. 777 hasn't) and conferred with to make his decision... It's just irony at its finest...and it also smacks of total idiocy...I mean...I'm not here talking about why LSU should have run 4 wide, no back, shotgun offense all year so that we could have had a comparable offense to go with our defense... The reason I don't do this? Why, none other than the fact that I don't coach football. I have never made a DIME through coaching, recruiting, or anything other than writing about sports... I don't have a million to show from my recruiting service or talent evaluation skills, nor my coaching abilities...yet we have some here who act as if they do...
