LSU plays well as the underdog. Let em talk their smack and shut em up sat night. LSU'll get their respect when they show they don't choke, just as sabafan so eloquently explained it.

I don't buy the "they'll-come-around" talk. I agree that many media outlets would rather see a USC-OU matchup. I am thinking that they are thinking that it would be better for them dollar-wise. I've even heard people in NOLA say that it would be better for USC to come to town in the Sugar over the Tigers from purely a financial point of view. Such reasoning makes sense, but not within the sporting sense. This is a game and should remain a game first. May the best teams be pitted against one another and may the best team win. It looks as though the two best teams in the SEC will engage in the final battle in less than 48 hours. Good. Will we be able to say the same of the Sugar Bowl?

By the way, if LSU were to win and USC lose, I do think that we would be in the Sugar, but I also think that there would be a small minority of voices who would argue for Michigan in place of LSU. Crazy, huh? It is crazy and it is driven by factors unrelated to the game itself. Sad.

As for seemingly the whole world being against LSU, I like this too. Good BB material. I expect the Tigers to respond to in a positive manner. Saban does a great job at preparing his teams.

Most of their predictions are lousy because I think many of these guys are too lazy to put in the time and analysis on these games. They don't have original ideas, so if the media herd is moving towards a particular team, these guys just follow along, take the few sound bites they've heard or read and formulate their picks.

Let's not be so quick to overlook him, though. He reminds me a
little of Jay Barker on Alabama's 1992 NC team...his numbers sucked, but all he did was beat you. You've got to watch out for guys like that.

I can't get a feel for how this game is going to go...and that worries me a little. I THINK LSU is going to win...but I wouldn't feel real comfortable staking anything on it. That bothers me.

 

As usual, our boy Trev is picking Georgia to win. I think we could
get to the Sugar Bowl, beat Oklahoma 56-0, and he'd STILL say we weren't the Real Deal...so you just have to write him off for the idiot he is.
