I for one disagree, Graham is a known commodity (known to be pretty damn good!), the fans/organization love him. The article mentions trading him for draft picks (unknown commodity) to bolster the defense. Unless the Saints don't have any draft pics, which I have no idea from the S. Peyton fiasco, they could gamble on lower level picks to bolster the D as well as free agents.......my vote is keep Graham unless his asking price is just so crazy it breaks the franchise.
I gave it the courtesy of getting through maybe half that article. Then I realized I'd never be ale to get back those several minutes of my life that I'd wasted and got mad and stopped. Utter stupidity. If the Saints can resign him, they should. Period. Otherwise, why don't we just trade away Brees too? I bet we could get a couple of good draft picks for him. Think of the players of unknown NFL ability we could gamble on in the draft! We could possibly get another great Heisman winning first rounder to build a franchise around. Like Ricky. Or Reggie. Or if we're lucky, Mark! Somebody must have been unable to come up with a good idea and had a deadline looming so they shit that mental diarrhea onto a page and submitted it to an editor. Who was another mental midget and actually went with it. I'm pretty certain it was written by Arthur Blank under a pseudonym.
Not a terrible idea but given Brees only has a few good years left, may as well keep his biggest target. I'd suggest getting Carl nicks back and better run blockers instead.
They should have gotten rid of Ingram a few years ago, now you aren't going to get close to what you put into him. I'd keep Graham though, he is too much of a baller to get rid of. If the Saints didn't have a guy who could get him the ball and were in a state of QB flux, I would say trade him, but you got Brees for another 4 to 5 years.
Can you imagine the Lions dumping Calvin Johnson for 5 draft picks? That being said, a couple additional first round draft picks plus a handful of mid-round picks could set the Saints up to be the Patriots of the next decade. No one player is worth that, but if you find someone stupid enough top do it it's hard to turn down.
That's true, but like most risk, it's a crap shoot because you never know how a draft pick will turn out, but you have a proven commodity in Graham. Still, with all of those picks, as you said, it could set you up for a long time, but it's a PR nightmare. Can you imagine the blow back of the fans if they traded Graham?
