I don't think there is much chance in that.

TAMU to the SEC is as close to a "done deal" as you can get. I'd put about a 95% chance they will soon officially announce they are leaving the Big 12, then shortly after will be invited and accepted by the SEC.

    Without a 14th team? I don't think so.

Va Tech will be the 14th team. It makes zero business sense to invite a team from Fla or Ga. North Carolina ain't comin' without Duke (as someone on here mentioned I believe) and Duke definitely ain't comin'. I think there's A LOT of "deals" and negotiations going on "off the record". TAMU's behavior is revealing that.

Schedules are laid out years in advance. How quickly can two new teams be completely assimilated into the SEC schedule?

I have no clue Red. I just know someone's behavior says a lot, and in this case aTm's behavior is not one of uncertaintly. I don't think aTm would be this aggressive if they didn't have another home waiting on them. Colin Cowherd is now reporting (take that for what's worth though) that aTm leaving the big XII is a "done deal". I don't know how things will shake out but things as of now are pointing to the inevitable. aTm is leaving the Big XII.

I would have to assume (and I could be dead wrong) that the SEC is also having similar conversations with Va Tech or whoever the "other" 14th team will be.

I'd say about as easily as Nebraska was absorbed into the big 11 in about the same amount of time, same for the muffalo's into the pac whatever the hell they are now.

Who or how many teams, matters not to me. The only thing that could be less disruptive about this whole enviable change, is the assurance Bama doesn't move east. Hate with a purple passion (code) losing these great rivalries because too many invitees came out of the west. Keep it balanced.

Don't think this is particualrly good news for LSU. Gives Texas AM more clout to recruit, being able to play in the SEC. Right now we recruit alot of southeast texas, with a good bit of success.
