Now some of the hate comes out. Where was everybody when cgisclair & I were catching hell in the "Your true feelings on Nick Saban" thread because we said that he wasn't as great as alot of people think!?!?
All that gets swept under the rug I guess?! I guess it takes something in a newspaper to make people believe that the man isn't as much of a Saint as we credit him for.
look everyone already knew he was kind of a prick. he was just a WINNING prick. now hes not at LSU WINNING anymore, so he is just a prick again. hahaha
I don't think it was a question of money - he was already the highest paid coach in college football. Secondly, we all knew he would be leaving for the NFL at some point. Being an NFL coach has always been his main goal. He didn't leave for the Bears because he knew that it wasn't the right team or the right time and they didn't have the tools in place to be successful. With Miami, he has a great owner who is very cooperative with the $$$, the opportunity to have a full control of the team, and players who can help them win games. He has the opportunity to return the Dolphins to the type of team they once were. Is the hatred that some people have toward Saban just purely bitterness for him leaving LSU or has he just never been liked?
I like him... and still do... I just think that some here give him too much of a free pass all of the time...
He took our Tigers to the National Championship. He not only gets a free pass, he gets a lifetime free pass.
yep, can't forget about what he did for the LSU team, the school, the community... he gave louisianians a fresh sense of pride. God bless nick saban. even if he is a cold hearted businessman/prick. haha we ALL knew, at least in the back of our minds, that Saban was gone from the getgo, it was only a matter of time.
My question is, if Les Miles has the same type of success (if not more success) that Saban had at LSU, is it only a matter of time before the NFL comes calling for him? It's funny to me how the NFL is always quick to jump on a hot college coach and yet history has shown that successful college coaches have not always done well in the NFL.
