That's the thing though, a few minutes. I've seen him launch balls way over heads, throw balls in the dirt, and behind receivers as well. He had a good few minutes. What's going to happen when he doesn't. LSU fans will always want the next guy, until he loses then that guy is garbage too and Les Miles botched the qb recruiting.
Agreed. But it sure seems the offensive runs a little more fluid together when Harris is under center. And while I am not ready to give up on Jennings yet, he's young he is going to make mistakes and have good games and not so good games. Harris too. But right now it seems Harris more intangibles to the offensive game plan. Anyone that thought we were going to compete for a 10 win season was just not being honest with themselves. Our oldest offensive players are on the line and in the backfield. I would expect more from the defense since most of them played together last season, but they are young too, and mistakes are going to happen. This was never going to be a contention year instead of a rebuilding year. Next season is when I expect to see a more polished and aggressive team.
I'm not sure I agree with your assessment. By the time Harris got in there, MSU had pull some of their starters and was in prevent mode. I do think Harris throws a great looking ball. He likely has greater upside than Jennings, but I'm not sure he would have done much better if he'd gotten the start. Throwing a few bombs in garbage time against the other teams backups doesn't clearly prove he should have started. Bottom line is that if our defensive line gets dominated and our offensive line gets dominated, I seriously doubt either of those youngsters could've QB'd us to a win...
I agree with this... If he stuck with Jordan Jefferson for 3 years, I doubt he's gonna bench Jennings anytime soon...
I was thinking about this myself. I think there are 2 possibilities.. 1. The talent is way overrated, especially on the O-Line & D-Line. Maybe the coaches are too reliant on Rivals.com ratings, because all of these 4 (and sometimes 5) star recruits are getting their ass whipped up front by Mississippi State's 3 Star guys. 2. We aren't developing the talent. I heard a lot of hype about the new O-Line coach (Grimes), but after 4 games, I want Studrawa back. This O-Line is terribly disappointing really in almost all of the games. We couldn't even consistently dominate up front against the cup cakes
Oh hell no. He can continue kickin' rocks. Grimes hasn't been here very long, let him get a few of his recruits and build his line. It'll get there.
It's not just Welter. The 4 guys in front of him are getting manhandled. That's a bigger problem than Welter. He's really a secondary problem at this point
idk if this is right, but Grimes hasn't impressed so far. The offensive line looks to have taken a step backwards, despite 4 returning starters.
