1. I've noticed that about the personnel at fullback, and MSU probably scouted that too. ESPN was kinda poking fun at us for how predictable we were on those 4 plays. I think ur right that we just figured they couldn't stop it, even if they knew what was coming. Last night, our coaches' logic was proven wrong
  2. I've not followed the two, Harris and Jennings, well enough to have any input.

Though judging from Miles' past transgressions, oh the many, it's not beyond the pale to reach the conclusion that Miles likely made the wrong choice, yet again.

What we saw last night was unacceptable. It never sets a great tone offensively when your first possession, also first possession of the game, ends in a three and out. All because of the insistence on running up the middle for not only the first customary throw-away-a-down, but then the next two downs as well.

[upon not moving the sticks, the camera cuts to a close up of Miles' puzzled face]

With the only puzzle being that Miles is actually puzzled, yet again

  3. I think part of it too is that Miles does not demand perfection. I think he's ok with 'good enough', if that makes any sense.
  4. If the line is capable of absorbing it and remembering. They had a tough time counting to Hut 3 last year. You can't fix stupid. More likely they have years of Studrawa instruction that has become instinctive and they are struggling with new techniques. If they aren't quicker learners, it may be a long season for them and their position coach.

  5. So much for student athletes
  6. Then again, on the goal line in the 4th quarter, they ran the same Hilliard play twice and scored. A lot of what did not work last night was execution. The O-line blocked much better in the 4th quarter.
  7. Well it's good to know our O line can block MSST's 2nd string.
  8. Execution is the main point. LSU ran the ball down everyone's throat in 2011 when they all knew it was coming. It's the SEC...if you can't run the ball successfully in predictable run situations (like 4th and 1) you won't get anywhere. It just sucks because those used to be gimmes
  9. Ok, so you really are saying our linemen are unintelligent.

  10. No, I don't think they are playing smart football. They have size, athleticism, and experience galore. The other main factors are knowledge and execution--knowing what to do and doing it properly. There is some kind of problem there, I think. They seem confused and are not playing smart football. What do you think it is?

"You can't fix stupid" is just a Ron White comedy line about people who do stupid shit. You were supposed to get the joke.
