It was a $10 ounce in 1969 and in a sandwich bag, no zip-locks then, you just rolled it up. My high school civics teacher (and the first black teacher I ever had), got high in the early 50's when he was in the Navy and he said it came wrapped in tinfoil.
Ahhh, then you may be right. We did the drive thru variety where you drove into known neighborhoods and got a "sack" for 10 bones. Some would simply call it a "handful" in a sack but a paper bag was all it was, never knew there was an alternative, back in the day much less by any specific volume. We were poor and my samich was presented in foil long before there was coin to be wasted on samich bags. Now I don't know what to do without a trusty zip lock.
And his wonder dog Manfred! There was a guy in my organic chem class in '74 in the big classroom @ Coates who wore a shirt with his name stitched on the back. Yes, his name was Tom, and we jokingly referred to him as Tom Terrific. His girlfriend was, of course, Manfred. :hihi: We determined a while back that martin went to HS with my professor's son Lars, who was born when I was in Dr. Neil Kestner's class. Wow, that's older than dirt.
Man. I remember about 90% of that stuff. Here's one for ya - remember the TV remotes that worked off of sound? Audible metallic click and the rotary channel dial moved forward one channel? Good times...
The first weed I ever bought was on Chimes Street in 1967. I paid $5 for a matchbox full. Maybe we should rename this thread to The Ancient Weed Prices Thread
