My 1990 Ford F-150 had the switch on the floor. Much easier to do it with your foot but it took me a while to figure out where it was. It was my first car when I turned 17 in 1998. It wouldn't start when it rained.
i think it's "moosen" like oxen. and going back to what you said about the album thread, i like the beatles but they weren't in their prime when i was alive so i don't think that music thread really shows the age like this thread b/c half of that stuff i've never heard of or never would have heard of without tv or movies.
I have a question for the old timers, why did people back then recycle grease they used to fry something in an old community coffee can. Or was that just my grandmother?
My grandmother did that as well. Hadn't thought about that in a long time. Brings back some good memories! :thumb:
my dad had an '89 Lincoln Town Car (last of the 965 ft long bodies in the Lincolns). Dam that car was faster than it ever looked. It had the dimmer switch on the floor. added a pedal shaped like a bare foot to it:hihi:
Hey I'm an old timer for sure and my mom did that too. I'm gonna guess this is the reason. They were always cooking something in the black skillets. Instead of dumping the grease out and washing the skillet, they saved the grease. Next time they fried chicken, or needed a little grease in the skillet for biscuits or anything, they used the recycled. Once the frydaddy type appliances were invented, you just kept grease in there and replaced it every now and then. Plus, almost nobody fries chicken at home anymore, less need for grease in the skillet. Just a guess. Wish my mom was around to ask.
