Other than the playing for the national championship the next best thing is playing for the sec championship. Having said that, other than the 2003 Sugar Bowl this is the most excited I have been for a bowl game.

In our current situation, with two losses on the season, this is far and away the BEST scenario possible for LSU. That 40-3 drumming of Miami is mentioned quite often. If we can beat Michigan, it would be on the talking heads' lips all next season as well.

The Rose Bowl carries immense prestige with it.

Since it is such a rare occurence, I'll take the Rose Bowl anytime over the SECCG if I have to pick one. That is like one game below a NC game.

But only because we'll be (most likely) playing #3-ranked Michigan. If LSU was going to be playing Boise State or Rutgers in the Rose Bowl, it wouldn't be as excited.

I think Miles throws everything into beating Michigan. Think about it. He may be wanting to impress Michigan in hopes of one day coaching at his alma mater, so he'll be wanting to really leave a lasting impression in this game. I would think he would want a W more than the fans in this one.

I agree with the "O". We hopefully have made it to the #2 Bowl game despite what some nay-sayers were calling 2006 a wasted season. I am a glass half full guy and this is by far the best scenario we could have made w/o playing for the NC.

I would also like to thank the "Football Gods" for working thei magic this season!!!

Coaches invariably downplay those situations but you know it'll have to be special for him. As far as "Throwing everything into beating Michigan" I believe Miles coaches to win every game and bases his decisions accordingly.

I would be dissapointed to think he did less in any game knowing how important each week is and how bad a loss can affect us at the end of the year with the BCS implications. :thumb:

There's no doubt in my mind LSU comes away from that Bowl with a win....and if they're crazy enough to invite ND, it'll be a huge margin of victory.

I mean, as much as we would all love running the table and winning the SEC....this is a once in a liftime opp.....just like the Sugar was in 03...There was no price limit then and there is no price limit now...I want to be able to tell my kids and my grandkids that I went to the "granddaddy of them all" and watched the Tigahs play. Win or lose it will be a GREAT experience and one we may never be able to do again. I've never been this excited since the 03 Sugar. (Nothing can beat that)

First, all the chips had to fall in place for this to even be possible. The Rose had to lose TWO of their conf. reps. Then we also had to overcome a four top 10 away game schedule.

Its a good time to be an LSU Tiger.
