    ....

Whom ever gets the job is going to have a tough road. The media and the fans will be all over him after the first loss. Things like, Man Saban left him loaded why can't he or she  get it done. The LSU job is tough on any year, but next year will be even worse. Unless the team goes undeafed.

Except that if we go undefeated, everyone will be saying...."yeah but he did it because of Saban's talent, and anybody could have one with Saban's talent Let's wait until he gets his own players in here before we call him a good caoch"

I hope not Goodlife. lets be very honest. This loaded team needed some missed XP to beat a lowly Pac-10 team, had to come back vs Troy State, got hammered by UGA and had Ole Miss give them all they can handle.
Now before I get flamed, I am not bashing the team. I am just saying its hard to win in the SEC, and even Saban had his fights on his hands, matter of fact he lost a few.

Good points, but this bunch was giving Saban crap about losing. What the hell do you think is going to happen to the new guy. Win or lose, this is going to be a tough crowd.

if the statements about davis are true - wanting to take a yr off, i can respect that decision. i would rather hear that now that in 1 or 2 yrs. but, you never know about these things.
davis is still my top choice until he "officially" declines the job.
    1. i hope that the people in the hiring process do consider tedford, i like what he has done with the cal program. they were a pushover before he arrived.
    2. i'm concered about petrino - 2 years is such a short time - is he still living off of jl smith's success. conference usa - enough said.
    3. ok state coach - i think a mich alum, does he have aspirations for this job?
    4. iowa coach - nfl aspirations, some have mentioned about lack of southern region recruiting - coach saban had the same situation when he left mich state - it depends who he would sourround himself with.

others gruden - can he recruit? a tireless worker.
rodrguez - i would prefer not.
tuberville - only as a last resort.

Greetings from Louisville KY. My nephew just left for the Holidays from town to head back to LSU for his second semister....funny we would be standing in the same room when the news announced that Tom Jurich had allowed communications between LSU and Bobby Pitrino.

He would be a great coach for you all. I wish we could keep him here!

    FYI-
He has called a press conference at 12:30pm today ...in about 1.5 hours. STAY TUNED......

Could just be the "pre bowl game" press conference. We learned about those last week. I guess we will see. Even if it is just the standard bowl game conference, I am sure he will get hounded with questions.

    The crazy thing is ....

    1. He just had his contract extended (I know contracts are broken)
    2. The AD at Louisville, Jurich, said he would not allow anyone to speak with him until after the season. (Pitrino had a run in with Auburn last year "under the table" and got busted for it)
    3. My kids and his kids play in grade school sports in the same leagues....they are happy....his one son is set to start at QB for the potential State Champion team in KY next year, Trinity High School.
    4. He says he is happy here.

I really think that this would be a tough decision for him ...but I think he would go to LSU....
