As long as Texas and their chitty big headed fans stay away I don't really care where or what they do. I don't blame tamu from wanting to get away from that enviroment. I vote for Texas to lose every game they play unless it helps lsu. There is no way in hell I want Texas in the sec. Texas in the sec is like inviting a known thief over to watch your house for the week while you're on vacation and leaving him your ATM card and pin incase of an emergency. They will come to the sec and try and run the show. We don't need another one of them, we already have bama.

Except when we invite you over for cake, we give you a heaping helping. All we're asking is to remember who's cake it is.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Arky recently had that opportunity but declined.

As for the Conference championship game, I do not recall the specifics of how ATL was decided, BUT, there may have been some thought that NOLA hosts an even bigger game and so ATL should get cut in on some of this. Also, ATL is more centrally located to the entirety of the SEC than is NOLA. But I like the idea of rotating the game. Given weather considerations, the best rotation might be something involving ATL, Tampa and NOLA.

It is, pretty much. Teams that actually participate in bowls get a slightly larger chunk of that bowl's money, but the rest is distributed evenly.

So Vandy got $18.3 million just by virtue of being in the SEC, without selling a single ticket or concession.

Comparatively, the Big12 distributes 50% of its revenue evenly, and the other 50% is distributed based on television appearances.

    Code:
School	Revenue Dist. '08-09	Even Dist.	Difference
    Oklahoma	$12.20 $10.1 ($2.1MM)
    Texas $11.80 $10.1 ($1.7MM)
    Kansas $11.50 $10.1 ($1.4MM)
    Missouri	$10.40 $10.1 ($330k)
    Texas A&M $10.20 $10.1 ($100k)
    Oklahoma State	$10.00 $10.1 ($100k)
    Colorado	$9.77 $10.1 $330K
    Nebraska	$9.73 $10.1 $370k
    Texas Tech	$9.20 $10.1 $900k
    Baylor $9.10 $10.1 $1MM
    Iowa State	$8.90 $10.1 $1.2MM
    Kansas State	$8.40 $10.1 $1.7MM

This is the most recent data I could find without spending too much time on it.

Well, keep in mind, this was before Nebraska and Colorado bolted, before the LHN, and before revenue sharing was restructured to further favor Oklahoma and Texas, in an effort to keep them in the league and keep the league together. They don't make the data public anymore. Wonder why that is.

During that same period from 08-09, Vanderbilt received $11.1 million from the SEC, which would have put it ahead of everybody but Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas.
