Merely proving that you don't know anything about me, but if it works for you...

The possibility of other intelligent planets is unlikely, thus far, because the signature noise would be obvious. We are probably alone as sentient beings in the universe, for whatever reason.
Deal with it. Embrace man's uniqueness and destiny as the eventual overlords of the universe.

I skimmed over a lot of posts, so I may not have caught it but was the level of intelligence that we're talking about ever defined?

Dolphins are considered intelligent for a myriad of reasons, yet they are clearly not as advanced as us. It is possible that there are other "intelligent" lifeforms out in the universe that just aren't as advanced as us so as to send electrical signals out into the universe.

Also, I was reading recently about how plant life on earth may have been purplish in color in the early stages. This just shows that just because things develop one way on our planet doesn't mean it will develop that way on another planet. Perhaps we are looking for life in the completely wrong way.

No really. To me, it means those qualities that separate us from the other higher creatures.

    • The ability to communicate subtle and complex ideas.
    • The capablility for abstract thought. To reason, plan, and solve problems.
    • The ability to manufacture tools and resources not found in nature.
    • The capacity to transcend natural selection. The future evolution of Homo Sapiens is not governed by survival of the fittest anymore. The weak, diseased, and deformed no longer die young. They are cared for and often pass their genes on. Genetic modification is now possible. Cloning is possible.

simply means even that all forms of life begin as LSU fans. where they go wrong along the way is their own problem.

If so, then the primordial stew probably tasted a lot like seafood gumbo.

Question is: Did God make the roux? :hihi:
