i just read up on marsh. it appears that if we lose him, its not like its to another sec school or texas. hes from cali and its to a home state school. im not saying "no big deal" because of course we could use him. but given the circumstances, i dont think its a huge shock.

Kid is heavily conflicted, he loves LSU and thats in his heart. But his mom is going to win out on this one. sometimes you have to let your kids go and grow. Bhelm can shed much more light on the situation.

    CS,
to be honest i thought LSU would go 9-3 and they did. the bowl game is nice but matters little if it's not for a NC or a BCS bowl so i don't get too pumped after a win or too down after a loss.

but the bowl game (including the weather, field, etc) was a microcosm for LSU's season. ugly. ugly football followed by an "oh wait, we're LSU we better start playing" followed by a defense that couldn't get off the field cuz they were gassed followed by bad refereeing (surprise!), shotty clock management and an impotent offense which equaled a loss. and honestly somehting that just didn't seem right. this season didn't sit well even if you were like me and picked LSU to lose to UF, bama and either UGA or ole miss.

somewhere btwn point A and point B of the 2009 season, i grew a little disheartened.

argue any of the following points if you'd like (i'm no expert) but these are some disturbing "trends" i'm seeing:
    1) poor offensive playcalling ( i didn't say i was going to re-invent the wheel here)
    2) tigers getting dominated in the trenches on both sides
    3) a defense that is somewhat improved but i'm not sold on them (much of that may have to do with the offense's inability to sustain drives)
4)a qb that is trying too hard to not be a pick 6 qb of 08, and is developing at a snail's pace (can either be a coaching, recruiting, or player issue)
    5) recruits de committing so late. it's one thing to lose a guy who we thought we had or were in on (janzen, mcknight, bell, yada yada) but losing commits this close to signing day can't be a good thing. recruiting is a weird animal though.

i've always backed miles but not getting rid of studwara for me was a move i cannot defend.
crowton to a lesser extent. it appears crowton has forgotten how to coach overnight (see 2007 and compare playcalling to 2009) maybe he'll remember again. keeping him is a dumb move but not a dealbreaker. it's apparent it's more of a money thing and maybe crowton will spend his remaining days in BR as an OC in name only.

i guess overall i've lost confidence in the program. i used to say things like 08 and 09 will be rough but 2010 and 2011 will be championship run years.

now, i don't know how much i believe that. i want it to be true. but do i honestly (gun to my head) bet it will happen????!! not like i did before 2009.

i can't explain it, it's just the way i feel. i hope miles and co. turn it around in '10 i hope we can win the west/beat alabama because i really feel if he doesn't he will have lost most of the fans.

those 2%'ers became like 35%'ers this year. lose to bama/lose the west again in '10 they probably double. how many times will alleva have to write a letter to fans then?

miles is a good man, runs a clean program (sans DJ mccarthy) and how many times under dinardo and saban did you hear about bar fights, purse snatching, long distance code fiascos, ticket selling fiascos, etc.?
sans RP, miles' players are mostly model citizens. i like that.

but this discussion is not invalid because pumpers will be pumpers and negatigers will be negatigers, but the battle for the fans in the middle has begun and it will all depend on 2010.
