Talentwise we'll be good, but we always have been. Can Steele coach these guys. I'm not one of those guys that just think you need talent. Especially on defense. It's all about scheme. edit: Love the new avatar by the way.
One other thing. Imagine if we'd gotten Shoop and then the next day announced Orgeron. That would have been impressive. I think the Orgeron thing has been a done deal for a while and may even be the reason we lost CP and Shoop.
I wonder what's going on with Brick then if Orgeron is coming aboard, that kinda worries me especially with the recruits, some are very loyal to Brick
That has been on my mind , the hire should have been the next day and from within the program . Now we will see changes in the D system . Can the players get used to it , and learn in time .it may take a few years to get the players for the new system .But once again I am just a fan , I think we need bigger and stronger D lineman ,
I do not know why , and yet I do but I will not say why LOL, I just had the urge to post this . Not about football,
It feels like a stretch that this is an upgrade over Chavis. The proof will be in the pudding. It feels like LSU is chasing around big brother Bama and when it became apparent we couldn't get the big fish, LSU settled for anyone off Bama's staff. I feel this was a poorly managed search and PR nightmare. We definitely did not improve the brand with this hire.
Rousel's site is hardly what I'd call fly by night. His time coaching in college has led him to establish some pretty good contacts in the industry. That said, when he starts reporting things about Ole Miss, how they are going to do, etc., I tend to look at that very skeptically. The man bleeds Oxford Blue like no other. Even if this does come to fruition, it doesn't change my viewpoint on putting little stock into what comes from drive-time, local sports radio. The fact this story is now coming from the convention in Kentucky makes it take on a completely new light.
My guess is we will run basic schemes revolved around talent. That's all Chavis did these last few years anyway.
