BB, Daddy Dale did it for a loooooooong time...He packed that place, and brought in top talent at the same time...Brady has brought in HS All Americans, All-SEC players, and has had two SEC POY's in 5 years, along with 3 Freshman POY's in the SEC, as well as a few other All-SEC'ers... He still hasn't packed the crowds in...I understand what you're trying to get at, but what I'm trying to get at is that even if Daddy Dale didn't live up to post-season expectations, he had the fans, and he had the fans in the stands... Brady don't...and worse than that, Brady doesn't perform in the post-season...Period.
also i dont think the coach is responsible for putting people in the seats. however, i do think the fans that do not attend could be part of the problem, in that recruits like to come to play for packed houses and fans help teams win.[/QUOTE From Martin Ditto.
Don't expect you to remember or even know where this comes from, but some of the older members of this forum should know what this picture means in terms of how satisfied I am that Brady should remain on at LSU...
You said I had personal issues with him...What are they? Name them? What makes the issues you're about to name personal?
We are beginning to be a SCHOOL of dominance. Track and Field is in the National Championship hunt every year. Girls Gymnastics are top 25 almost every year. Baseball, Football, Softball, almost all sports are beginning to be in the 25 consistently. There is no reason why our basketball team cant be there as well. You get national attention when you are in the top 25. Brady has yet to break the top 25 except one year. Some may say its all about making the tourney and winning games in the tourney, but its not. It all falls back on your season. Top 25's are gauranteed in the tourney. We need a coach that will get us in the top 25 year in and year out. People can also diss on Smoke. But the fact is he gets recruits here. Yes he is 0-4 in the CWS, but we maintain that top 25, normally top 10 spot, which has the nation watching and talking about us, as well as filling the stands.
Regarding Dale Brown - I love the man, but one has to wonder why he felt compelled to put it all on the line for that punk Lester Earl. Also, I think that if the NBA were to implement the age floor that they have been flirting with recently, that schools like LSU will benefit big time.
BB, he paid a HELLUVA lot more players than that...I could get into it, but I don't have the desire to go that far off-topic...
People would rather watch illegally payed players win, then watch guys that got here honestly w/o cash win 20 games. It's not an insult on people, its just the landscape.
