Are leakers honest people?

I know what the law says. Would like to know what the board thinks.

 

lets step back from trump a second and look at Snowden. The guy broke the law, plane and simple. But i think what he did exposed some very bad things our government was doing. But society doesn't get to directly make the decision that the ends justify the means a jury / judge's ruling does. I think the same thing applies here. If you leak confidential information you broke the law and should be prosecuted, then at a trail it can be determined that yes you were guilty, but punishment can be offset by the overall good served by the information becoming open to the public.

Yes. There are actual whistleblower protection laws on the books.

 

So releasing phone call transcripts is a whistle blower?

 

There is nothing lower than a rat. Ask any convict what happens to snitches in prison.

 

Yes... why not? And, by the way, many people believe that Trump, himself, leaked those transcripts. He REALLY is stupid enough to believe they help him.

A rat is a rat. You don't give your people up. For good and bad. How many people do you think you could trust not to repeat something you tell them. The 1 out of 1000 you know wouldnt is the only good one.
