I'm not complaining about his overall performance... it was nothing short of phenomenal and I'm super-happy he's on our staff. But in the third quarter against Florida he called something that should never be called in that circumstance. I think you probably remember... Gators have first and ten from their own 2... and Donte Jackson is in tight coverage on the wide receiver... with no safety help. Sorry, but that 98 yard touchdown was just too cheap. All it takes is a little slip, a little miss on the ball, and the rest is history. Cost us the game. Better to have made that very average quarterback make a whole series of throws down the field... with average receivers behind an average offensive line. Nobody's perfect. I ain't even mad.
Johnson got beat and couldn't make a tackle. Not really even mad at something that shouldn't have happened
If you play aggressive you sometimes get beat. I would rather be aggressive and give up the occasional big play than let them dink and dunk down the field and just hope they screw up before they drive the length of the field.
I was going to say the same thing. FU has great athletes too and they made a play. It didn't cost us the game. Failure to execute inside the 5 on multiple occasions cost us the game.
They woulda still won but much less impressive to those that didn't watch and to the committee. Reminds me of how the gumps bragged about holding LSU to zero TDs in two games in 2011. Exactly one less than them...
