For the locals, not the yokels.

You can get into a heap of trouble in New York if you don't know where you are going and look like a victim. Its that way everywhere,

This is true, my brother lives in Brooklyn and he has said this before. Although he doesnt see alot of crime, except on the subway at times.

wont apple take over this market due to content? once they get rights to the top content its over.

and of course all the bells and whistles a kindle chooses to not be by design.

you should visit gardere lane next time in town.

    and speaking of ebooks/kindles.

I dont want to carry around another device just to be able to read something. shouldnt it make sense any book you wish to read be immediately available via download for any type format?

is this not happening or not feasible for some reason?

It's happening, but . . . I work in front of a computer all day long, so I really spend as little of my leisure time in front of one as possible. It's not where I want to read a book. I read books sitting on my porch swing or in my well-lit chair by the window or in bed or while traveling.

I'm a book person and always will be. On the other hand, I'm an LP and CD person, too, but that hasn't kept me from downloading a lot of music. If anyone is going to sell e-books to me, it's going to have to be on something that is cheap, light, and as handy as a book to carry around but with a readable screen, not a tiny iPhone screen.

If you want to expand your itunes library, you might want to check out software at Cucusoft DVD to ipod, the Best Converter for iPod,iPhone,Zune,DVD,PSP I purchased the Ultimate DVD + Video Converter Suite - it works great.

I use tunebite to scrub DRM off of stuff I get from rhapsody to add to my itunes. It works pretty good. Well before I went (as tirk so eloquently put it) Robert Montgomery Knight on my hard drive it did.

It has nothing to do with audio/video stuff. That is easy. If Apple is wanting to run the world from their iphone/ipad devices then they need to add more functionality to Itunes. Itunes needs to have a simple way to put word docs, excel docs, spreadsheets, pdfs etc onto the devices. They need to add some kind of file storage folders to ipad/iphone. Yes yes, you can do store those files in emails, but that is dumb and inefficient. I also don't want to have to go by apps or hack my devices to make it store files other than audio/visual.
