i dont think itll have 1/100th the impact of the ipod because it is trying to replace books. i never see myself reading an ebook until there are no other options. newspapers and magazines, sure, but not books.
i think the value is in the fact that you can leave it laying around and pick it up and surf the web on the couch without having to sit down and boot up a real computer. i had a netbook (i dropped and broke it) and i quit using it when i got my htc hero phone, because it is quicker to check email on a phone device that is immediate. booting up the netbook, or even waking it from suspend mode is a hassle. like when youa re on the couch and you want to look someting up on wikipedia to settle an argument with your horrible wife, thats the ipad.
yes, i never turn mine off either, but it isnt in my bed or on my couch. plus i do not like the pointing devices on laptops and i cant use a mouse on the couch very easily. honestly it is kind of a struggle to think up uses for this device. i guess i would like to load it up with movies and go on flights with it. but i would prefer that it ran linux and had a memory card slot for me to put my stolen music and movies on.
or have all of it going. i have two pc's on my desk. the personal one stays on most of the time. the laptop is usually in the bedroom or kitchen and always on. the phone is always with me. if i get into a "debate" with greenie, and i can look up what i need.
C'mon now, admit you're as spoiled as the rest of us. :yelwink2: Standard resolution on a screen that small would REALLY suck! :hihi:
