I have learned that User Knowledge > Machine.

<-- Never owned a Mac and never had any issues with any PC.

true. i can be equally stupid on a $500 or a $1500 laptop. Or one can (as tirk so eloquently put it) go all robert montgomery knight on a $500 or a $1500 machine.

One day, Grasshoppa, you will learn that symbiosis is greater yet.

Try it and you'll never go back to a Lollypop, Lollypop Oh, Loly-Lolypop machine. :hihi:

I do not believe you. Deek and Rolan don't even believe you.

Oh, I've played with them and worked with them. I just am not going to pay that much money for a PC when I can do more an a machine that's $1000 less.

Fair enough, it depends on what you do. Around here, the engineers and IT data guys prefer Windows on PC's, the programmers prefer UNIX on custom platforms, and the creative people prefer MacOS on Macs. Administrators and researchers like me cross these blurry lines and run all three operating systems simultaneously on loaded Mac Pro's that are fabulously expensive at $18K, but worth every penny in total cost and effectiveness.

I once had a PC and a Mac side-by-side on my desk, a Data General UXIX workstation in my studio, and both a Mac laptop and a PC laptop for field work and presentations. Five computers to do my personal job in my office suite--not counting the 20 computers in the labs that I also had to use at times.

Now I have one Mac Pro and one MacBook Pro, both running multiple operating systems, that replaced five computers. So there is more to consider than just comparing cost between a standard Mac and a standard Lollypop.

Those are great reasons. No doubt that Apple makes fabulous machines. However, I bet that 90% of them are bought because they're "cool" and are never used to 50% of their potential. People tell themselves "you get what you pay for" to convince themselves that overpaying for a Mac was "worth it".

That's the new "storage" app. Second only in popularity to the "hammer" app.
