Not exactly true. Before the BCS, if there were two undefeated teams (ranked #1 and #2), it was still unlikely that they would play against each other in a bowl game.....due to conference/bowl alignments.

Well, don’t forget that LSU, Bama and Oregon all have important games left to play. While we know what should happen – LSU undefeated, Bama and Oregon each with a loss to LSU – then the other one loss teams that haven’t played LSU would think – gee, Bama and Oregon had their shot why should they get a second chance?

You could still conceivably end up with LSU with one loss (Arkansas), Bama with two (LSU and Auburn) and Oregon with two losses (LSU and USC). Arkansas to play for the title? How about Georgia if they beat Arkansas in the SEC Title Game. It might depend on how Oklahoma and Oklahoma State finish out.

Should be an interesting three weeks. But it will keep us all interested and that is what the BCS is designed to do.

Well, Ga Southern won't help bama.
They'll probably win anyway. (Ga Southern, that is) We all know how Saban chokes at home (ULM, UAB)

I have tried not to mention the possibility of LSU losing to the Piggies. But were it to happen, total chaos in the BCS would ensue.

    To answer your question: Oregon.

Whoever is 2nd best. Although even if it is UA, the rest of the country don't want to see 2 teams from the same conference and in the same division that have already played decide the NC. Bama will not get in. Ratings disaster.

:geaux: If LSU runs the table along with 'Bama and Oregon, I think Oregon may have the upper hand. They would be a conference champion and will have a quality win in the books after 'Bama's season is over. 'Bama wouldn't even be a division champ. Also, the voters and many of the movers & shakers in the BCS, the media and college football in general may very well not want an LSU/Bama rematch and thus guarantee the SEC a sixth straight National Championship. The SEC hate in other areas of the country is pretty high and will definitely play in to all of this. I wouldn't completely count out OU at this point if they win out either. After Iowa State's win last night, I won't count out anything. :hihi: :LSU231:

I live in Alabama and would love nothing more than hearing the Gumps piss and moan that they deserved to be in a rematch. That being said I'd rather anyone other than Bammer.

One game at a time. Let's take care of business tonight and beat Ole Miss into submission.
