Didn't what? The man had a clause in his contract specific to UM. UM asked for permission to speak to him. If those things don't happen, LSU has little pressure to pay up. It's basic business and happens at all companies and with all-star employees. Some one comes calling and if you want to keep that person, you pay more money. It's very simple and is NOT an indictment against CLM to force LSU to pay more or even a suggestion that he did so.
You people are actually discussing the merits of Miles going after ESPN for libel? That's about the funniest thing I have ever read in my life. For all you people know, Miles was talking to Michigan and had a deal to take Tenuta up there. Word is, the source was Tenuta himself. IMO, the deal was blown when it came out before the SEC Championship and forced Miles to stay. You guys are hilarious.
I was just tryiing to prove a point CLM didn't gain monetary-wise in his contract extension, he'll just be employed by LSU a bit longer. The stipulations in his contract that give him the raises are exactly the same as the original. Win the SEC get paid on a level of the top 3 highest paid coaches in the sec, win the NC get paid on a level with the top 3 in the nation. Just trying to let uscv know LSU didn't throw extra jack at CLM to get him to stay just a basically extended his original contract. The incentives are the same Personally I know almost nothing about the legal sytem so I couldn't argue that bit lol
I just heard Gullbeau on the radio. A complete 180 on Miles. Miles is getting better and better in his press conferences, Miles does a great job getting his team ready for a bowl game, he doesn't practice his players just to be practicing, Miles knew all along that he was staying at LSU, Miles is a smart cookie, he's got a economics degree. This from a guy who said Miles was an average coach at best, that he was gone to Mich at the first opp. on and on. No wonder he got ran of from the advocate. What a tool.
Hello, are you not comprehending what his original contract stated? If the UM job was not open and he won the SECCG and NCG his salary increases take place as written in his ORIGINAL contract. He gained no leverage from UM job being open since all he did was sign an extension to his contract and didn't increase his salary. The incentive clauses that were already in his current contract kicked in for his winning the SEC CG and he will get another increase if he wins on Jan. 7, 2008. What is being overlooked by media and other outsiders is that he didn't receive a raise by signing his new contract and didn't ask for one either. He showed true integrity saying he was happy with current salary and his family was happy here at his new HOME. Integrity: something the media would know nothing about.:thumb: Have a Great Day!:milesmic: :LSU231: :geauxtige :helmet: :crystal: :crystal:
I for one didn't mention going after ESPN for libel just an apology or a little reconition that they were misled or that maybe they were a bit harsh at times. As for what we people know...for all you people know everything that you stated is untrue also, we don't know...my point is they were harsh, clean and simple. I listened to ESPN and all the shows bored in Atlanta last week and they were tough to stomach. As for the hilarious comment I am glad that we could entertain you. But I have the right to discuss my feelings on the issue either way. So stay tuned for more entertainment! Oh yea and you too tb3!!!
This just in... LSU fans would like to collectively say that they are sorry that gunlap is a loser. ESPN's Kirk Herbstreet is reporting that his sources have also confirmed that gunlap is a loser. Herbstreet stated that his story won't change unless gunlap dies or wins the lottery. Warmest wishes, LSU fans ...All in good fun. Nobody needs to apologize, but they should at least admit they were all WRONG! If, But, Bla Bla Bla. He's not going to be Michigan's coach so THEY ARE ALL WRONG no matter what happened. If it was a sure thing like they were all making it out to be, Les would have gone to Michigan NO MATTER WHAT. In the end, he made an a$$ out of them. Go Tigers.
I agree with you mostly but I will nit pick and mention that other incentives were added. One was free education at LSU for all his kids.
