More nonsense. Come back when you intend to debate the issues.

2014 is the initial year of implementation which will continue for several more years. It's barely begun and its too early to tell what is working and what is not.

Your criticisms are anecdotal. What evidence do you offer for the health law "not working".

Here is the source of my latest information. I guess if you want more info you can contact Mr Laszewski and subscribe.
I can assure you I have no opinion, I just read what the real, non-government experts opine! This guy obviously does not use teh term "train wreck" I was trying to convey the state of the ACA without being wordy.

    Cheers

In a randomized study, Oregon recently found when the uninsured were put on Medicaid, they increased ER usage by 40%.

NC if you noticed I had not participated in this thread at all. My point that you and Red ignored information LSU123 provided and fell back on attacking his points by asking him to prove it them over and over when you refuse to take the data. You and Red revert to calling those who disagree with you radical right wingers even though we use data that comes from all sources. That isn't debate my friend. You said "If you can show me an example of something that needs to be changed and have proof that it isn't working then let's see your evidence and, who knows, maybe you'll change my mind." The thread is filled with cites that you and Red ignore. It is actions like this that caused my post. If you read more after your post there is well documented data from Oregon that indicates ER visits increase when Medicare is available. BTW the data is NOT generated by the tea party but by several including the Social Security Admin http://www.nber.org/oregon/funding.html What are you going to do to trash that?

    Anecdotal comments are not citations.

Such is the nature of a debate. Each side makes his points, attacks the points of the opponent and lets the chips fall where they may. Bogus claims can get exposed. Phony "facts" can be challenged. Valid citations may be contradicted by equally valid opposing citations.

When have I done this? YOU are the one who tells me to "quit drinking the liberal Kool-Aid". 123 likes to tell me that I am "goofy" whenever I make a good point. Debate is a blood sport, amigo. If you can't take the heat . . .

So do we. And you ignore it.
I address cited information all of the time. But a list of complaints is not evidence of anything.

True, but look close at the numbers. They increased from 1.25 visits to 1.5 visits over 18 months. Not as big as it first appears, eh? When people know that they are covered they seek medical help more often. This is not surprising.

The study also reached a number of other interesting conclusions:

    • Medicaid decreased the probability of having an unpaid medical bill sent to a collection agency by 25 percent – which also benefits health care providers since the vast majority of such debts are never paid.
    • Medicaid increased the probability that people report themselves in good to excellent health (compared with fair or poor health) by 25 percent.
    • Medicaid increased the likelihood of using outpatient care by 35 percent, using prescription drugs by 15 percent, but did not seem to have an effect on use of emergency departments.
    • Medicaid increased the likelihood of being admitted to the hospital by 30 percent, driven by hospital admissions not originating in the emergency department.
    • Medicaid virtually eliminated out-of-pocket catastrophic medical expenditures and reduced the probability of having to borrow money or skip paying other bills because of medical expenses by more than 50%.
    • Medicaid increased the probability of not screening positive for depression by 10 percent.
    • Medicaid increased the use of preventive care, including an increase in cholesterol monitoring of 50 percent and a doubling of mammograms.
