why should anyone bother granting a game to usc anywhere?

if usc was so hell-bent on being a champ they should have beat cal. if you dont beat cal and cant have the strength of schedule to pass the other teams with the same records as yourself, then you should shut your damn mouth.

Re: Nice spin, but not true.

Bottom line is Carroll said anytime anyplace. Big words when he knows he won't have to back it up.

LSU fans, are we all forgetting that Va. Tech punked out of their season-opener in Death Valley, so that they could play in the BCA classic?

That's the reason--go back to posts on THIS very board in October, right after Va. Tech "re-scheduled" our home date.

Pete Carroll made that "challenge" during the BCS show, and Va. Tech was already in line for that game. It was a propaganda stunt, and my respect for Carroll is zero. My respect for the media is negative zero, since they didn't even bother to check out the VT angle of the story.

Whoa! Wait a minute! Are we saying that Va Tech would rather play "The Real National Champs" ™ than LSU?

Don't people usually back out of the more difficult games? (Ask BYU) ;)

"ANYWHERE ANYTIME"!!!!! Oh wait you mean you actually want to play??? Well let me see, Uhhhh well we can't come out and play that day sorry. You can't hide from competition all year long and then cry foul when your lack of schedule leaves you on the sidelines watching. But then to issue a challenge only to run and hide when someone accepts your challenge is an absolute joke. Location location location!!!!! If USuCk was located anywhere except Los Angeles they wouldn't even be able to smell a number one ranking from where they would be!!!!!! Start playing real competition and the BCS and other real teams will start taking you seriously. P.S You might want to stop issuing challenges you aren't prepared to back up!!!!!!

    Real competition? You mean like

home games with such powerhouses as Lousiana Tech, Lousiana Monroe, Western Illinois, North Texas or Fresno State.

And next year gets even tougher with Troy State, Houston, Florida A & M, Air Force and Bowling Green.

I guess that's how to get a good SOS.

Well, that's what you get when everyone backs out from playing the best.

I'm glad you finally got it.

So what does that make USC's schedule since their's was determined to be weaker?

Sorry, that's an arguement they'll never have as long as they play in the Pac-10...

    MLUTiger - You mean like

a weak Pac-10 team like Washington State beating Texas? That was one of OU's "quality" wins. Or the thumping by Kansas State which lost to a Big-10 also ran? Or USC's opponents being 5-1 in their bowl games? The loss being by ucla (does that really count?).

And then you have OU's opponent's bowl record of 2-6, one of which was Fresno State over the aforementioned ucla. The other bowl win was by Texas Tech.

I've got no beef with LSU, I hope you win tomorrow and claim a National Championship. It's big enough for the both of us.

    Geaux Tigers.

    rgf,

The reason our schedule is like it is, its not our fault.

    Someone help me out....

Marshall backed out on us this year and I think someone else
so we got stuck playing these teams

    And guess what??

Virginia Tech was suppose to play us at home 1st game next year
and they backed out on us to play who???

USC, now we have to scramble to find someone again for our
    non conference schedule
