No, can't you guys see the US govts. treatment of blacks for the past 200 yrs has something to do with our situation today. why do many blacks live in poverty, b/c the government didn't allow their grandparents to get an education and then their mother grew up with the idea she couldn't accomplish anything anyway. You really are naive enough to think you can shackle a race for hundreds of years finally calm down but not stop the discrimination for a couple decades and all the years of hurt will go away. Everytime I see and learn about what my ancestors and even parents went through it makes me mad as hell. You just don't know. When I am denied opportunities b/c of my race, you really don't know how the hell it feels. The psychological aspect of what happened passes down from generation to generation. And today white people act as if nothing happened. Yall say we should forget and we are using it as an excuse. I wish you could walk in my shoes so you could understand, but you can't. AA is needed and it is necessary, b/c yes the government does owe us something. They took education away from our people, now do something to help end the education gap that was created b/c of racism. I am the first black man that will say to other blacks we have to do things for ourselves and we can't rely on others. But with AA, it's something that the government owes to African-americans and it's time for them to pay up.

if you were adopted as infant into a rich family with opportunity would you still feel bad about what happened to your ancestors? so it is dead people's genetic similarity that hurts your feelings? why do you care about dead pople, just because they happen to be genetically similar to you?

what if you were white and were adopted by a por black family, then do feel the same way, or is it something magic in your genes?

Actually, the US government in a round about way, due the Emancip. Act, is responisble FOR you're education.
Compare Black education levels with that of African Blacks of today.
That is where you WOULD be.
maybe it is YOU as a race that should THANK your ancestors for Suffering through a bitter enslavement which actually LED to a MUCH better way of life for you and you're people. so another words you are whining about living in the most opurtunistic society in the world, that has basically created a WAY for the Black man to suceed. There is nothing wrong with the Black man, Look at Colin Powell and Condlezza Rice or Oprah Winfrey. Hell if a Black woman ( double Minority ) from the poorest state in the union ( MS ) can make it anyone can.

What is hurting the Black man is entitlement programs and AA, this is re-enforcing his basic belief in a subtle way that he "can't" get by with out it. If I were Black I'd be SCREAMING to get rid of AA and other programs, it is a SLAP in the face to Black Intelligence. These programs do more harm than good by keeping the Black race with "just" enough education and low paying jobs to stay POOR. Thats right.
