Anyone notice ABC news call the Red States in the South, "The Confederacy"?

That they wont have to go far to hold out their hands for free gas and free mortgages.

 

Okay, I thought I heard that, too.

Does it bother anyone else that Obama did not even manage to step foot in the Deep South or Texas since his nomination?

How is he going to unite this country if he totally has ignored the South? In Texas last night, they pointed out that Republican Senator John Cornyn very possibly could've lost the election last night to his Democratic challenger had Obama deemed Texas worth visiting even once in the last several months (he hasn't been here since March.)

 

Is Florida that transient? Seems like it fluctuates every few years in demographics. It would drive me crazy if that many yankees invaded LA or TX on a yearly basis.

 

Is it because of all of those northeastern retirees?

 

Invade they do my friend, the house across the street from me sat empty for the last 6 months, I thought the elderly gentleman had passed and they were selling the house. Because I saw him often last year, on his porch. Middle of last month the guy and a lady shows up bags in tow. Guy was in New Jersey for the last 6 months.

 

Some of our Floridians should answer that, but I have read that. I suppose it effectively becomes south manhattan.

 

Florida gets invaded every winter and it is pretty irritating. Actually I wouldn't really care but don't try and talk to these people. They want to tell you how much better NY and the north is and how backwards everything we do is and how they do everything better there, blah, blah, blah. Makes me want to lock the borders and let them spend their winters there since it is so much better and they are so superior. Quite exhausting to be honest.
