Yay! Lets!!! For starters: Throw W-L records out the window when Auburn and LSU meet. Would I like for this to be a game where we take Auburn back to the woodshed??? Since I'm going, HELL YEAH! Do I think we can? Even with the suspensions? Yeah. I do. My concern is Auburn managing to have some success to keep the game close. For some strange reason, it's AUBURN winning close games because of simply being lucky enough to avoid losing. A more experienced team than Utah St would have found a way to close out a game that they had no business giving back to Auburn. I don't worry about Auburn stringing together multiple long scoring drives. But I do get concerned about them hitting for big gains with RB screens and misdirection. Blake seems to thrive in those situations and his plays off of them go for huge yardage. Same thing with their RB's out of the backfield. Both are a pass catching threat. So my biggest fear Auburn poses is the potential matchup problems their RB's could give our LB's in space in the passing game. I look for Mo and Brooks to be the starting CB's with our defense utilizing more safeties this week. I think Vinson/Loston will likely be the nickle/dime DB's with Taylor and Reid up top. I know Miles hasn't liked flipping corners from left to right, choosing instead to keep them on one side all game, but I think Mo/Brooks should shift to cover the slot WR if Blake lines up there. I think Vinson and Loston could hold their own vs Auburn's other WR's. *Interesting matchup will be watching DeAngelo Benton. Now that he's more involved in Auburn's offense than ever before, he's coming to TS with a chip on his shoulder. Things could get problematic for our secondary if he starts having a great day. On offense, with or without Ware, I think we'll still operate well and function. I think we can still amass some good rushing yards with Ford and Blue. It'll just be slightly different from Ware's violent running style. Auburn is inexperienced in their secondary so look for Lee to take a few shots downfield early and for us to perhaps use a lot of motion plays to see if we can confuse them. Pending Auburn doesn't hit for big plays (and I think they're good for at least 2-3 of 20 yards) resulting in TD's, I still think we win comfortably. perhaps something along the lines of: 27-14 or 31-14
LSU 34 Auburn 10 Suspensions are offset by the passing game situation for Auburn (2 top receivers probably out, new QB, lost O-lineman) We go 5 deep in the RB rotation so Ware will not be missed much Just don't let Dyer kill you.
I disagree, he is a strong N-S runner and with Ware being out he will be the hammer that beats down the barn.
Now this is what i'm talking about. I get home to read some good old fashioned football talk. The distractions are melting away. Geaux Tigers.
You mean the three dudes who popped the piss test? You should see the shyt being reported posted on their FB/Twitter accounts.
Stop Michael Dyer, and swarm on McCaleb, and this game should be over in the 2rd quarter if our offense is moving the football.
So a true freshman that has been practicing and playing as the 3rd team FB is going to pass the other 3 RB's in the lineup and take Ware's carries. Hilliard might get 3 or 4 more carries than his usual 1 but the lions share of Ware's carries will be given to Ford, Gore and Blue. Plus Magee could see reps. I just don't see Hilliard getting significant action at RB.
