Any word if Nick picked a starting QB for this week?

theres no doubt that randall will start but i'm curious about how saban will start the game. i have a feeling that he will start conservative and play the field position game before trying to open up the offence to avoid a early mistake in bad field position. i think this will be one of those games where randall plays the first half and russell the second unless randall makes some really bad mistakes.

What will happen? Will Randall play as long as he is playing well? Does Jamarcus come in if there could be some improvement? Does he switch back and forth? Could Randall play the whole game? Does Jamarcus come in if we are behind even if Randall is playing decent?

I think Randall will play as long as Saban thinks he gives us the best opportunity to win (duh). If we are winning and moving the ball on UGA, I see Saban leaving in Randall the entire game. It's not worth risking Jamarcus not having a good game and Randall not being able to come back in a compete. He learned his lesson in the Auburn game.

I would tend to agree with exoticglass1. The Dawgs defence is going to be tough, and it may take a while for the LSU Offence to open things up. Randall seems to be comfortable running the offence. If the offence is all focussed and start the game sizzling, Russell may come in later when the game is in hand, with less pressure on his back, continue to execute and finish off Georgia! I really believe the LSU team has the talent to pull it off. It's all a matter of focus and mental attitude.

I think everybody here feels that we talented enough to beat anybody. That's not the problem. Just like it wasn't the problem for Auburn.

Randell will definetly start. All things being equal, I think that Saban likes to reward players who have been loyal to the program and stuck things out. But we're going to need Russell out there at some point to spread the ball around. Quarterback draws, and a conservative passing game might work for a little while against Georgia , but we're going to need someone who can get the ball down the field and make use of that talented recieving core.

If Russell was cleasrly the better QB and shown it in practice and/or games he would be the starter, period. Loyalty has nothing to do with it IMO, it's that he thinks Randall starting give us the best chance to win.

I wished people would stop believing that. Saban would not have MR out there due to loyalty....he has the guy who he thinks gives him his best chance to win. jeez guys, get real.

he was loyal to Matt Mauck too simply because he recruited him at MSU before he played minor league baseball. If not for that blind loyalty we coulda won the NC last year with JR.
