  6. Hi I was without power until 11:40pm. I tried and tried to reply to this thread but for some reason I was unable to. I wish I could have given you a prompt response. I apologize.
  7. The smartass has returned.
  8. Just got my power back at midnight. Was out 12 hours ... not nearly as bad as I was expecting.

I can't believe the images of New Orleans and the Mississippi coast. I kept hearing about it on the radio, but that doesn't do it justice.

I'll never understand why people choose to ride out these storms...
  9. Because when they live to tell about it, they can tell everyone how incredible it was and how it was nothing and it was an experience they'll never forget...when the whole time they were pissing themselves and crying out to God to save them for being idiots and choosing to ride it out. :thumb:

As the saying goes, "Losing faith in humanity, one idiot at a time."
  10. Well, it was still a dumb question.

Having lived in that area for 11 years, all of it on the west bank, I am quite familiar with the geographical oddities caused by the bend in the river from which "The Crescent City" gets it's name. The West Bank is so named because the Mississippi River is considered to be a North-South waterway, thus the upstream left bank is always "East" and the right side is "West". Looking at a map, the "West" bank is indeed south of the city of New Orleans, but, I can assure you, my mother-in-law does not know that.
