Hey, SabanFan, the West Bank is NOT west of New Orleans, but SOUTH. Look at any state map. Algiers is actually DUE EAST of downtown New Orleans. The West Bank was the first to receive storm winds. I had family that stayed in Gretna and rode this thing out. I know. I hate to say it, but your mother-in-law may just be a smart old gal "baiting you" & seeing if you really know your stuff. Mother-in-laws are good for that. I hope you didn't ride her too hard for that. Now that you know, you got to ask yourself one question. Do I feel lucky? Am I sure she won't bring out a map and have some fun with this one at coffee tomorrow morning. Well, do you feel lucky?
not if my house at home is damaged... i know the bookworm in you wants to go back, but I think it is jumping the gun, when you have thousands of students from N.O, who's houses are underwater
isn't it a little distracting? don't families want to stay together in times of tragedy? I mean it don't bother me either way... BUT I just think they needa think about the people affected who are students
Spoken like a true student. Don't sweat it clair. Those that don't show up for class this week will most likely be excused. They just won't tell everyone that before hand.
^^^ What salty said, in one of the e-mail's that LSU sent out they asked the teachers to be understanding if students could not make it to class once classes started. I'm sure they'll understand if you're in New Olreans with you're family, but I think classes should and will start back up on Wednesday.
It's one thing to be excused, but if you miss assignments and stuff it's real hard to catch up in college. This isn't high school anymore.
i will be there... just think it is a bad idea... btw, football Sat will go down! it will have been a long week for us all, and a chance to take out our frustrations on some Texans!
