Any logical reason why NFL and NCAA rules can't match?

I MUCH prefer watching college over pro! But I just don't like the OT rules in college....completely takes away too many aspects of the game.

I think college OT is perfect. Dont change a thing. There is NOTHING more exciting then College Overtime. (As a hockey fan, I suggest Playoff NHL hockey in OT is as exciting)

the NFL should adopt overtime like College. Instead of whoever wins the toss wins...

I love the college OT, it's also much more fair than the NFL OT.

That is true but it's still better than the NFL rules where a team can just run the kickoff back for a TD and win wihtout the offense or defense determining the outcome.
They do need to start college OT further back than from the 25 because that is already in FG range. So basically you start in scoring range, and the defense is at a disadvantage there. But oh well, it does make for exciting football...can't argue with that.

I generally don't care that they have different rules. But, I've said for years that I'd like to see the NCAA change the rule that a player can be down without an opposing player touching him.
