There are a small group of Fordham fans who want to move up into D1-A FB. Fordham used to be a major college program. Vince Lombardo was from there. They dropped FB I think back in the 60s and reinstated it a few years back. Their logic is that NYC does not have a true D1-A team. Army and Rutgers are part of the New York metro area, but the city lacks a D-1A program. There was a plan that they would play in that proposed new stadium in Manhattan that was supposed to house the Jets and the Olympics.

You can build a 30,000-40,000 seat stadium without spending a lot of money. I think there is a dream to expand their current stadium to D1-A levels also.

They shouldn't rush to become D-1 if they've never played LSU.

Become D-1 and there is *zero* chance Skip will ever invite you over to his house to play. :angryfire

Hell, you want LSU? Drop down to Div. III.

I can see it now: "LSU adds perennial Division III power Pittsburg State to the home schedule in 2007..."
