Judging from the radar, this thing is already falling apart. There doesn't even look like there's much rain associated with it anymore. I live right on the projected path of it and we're only forecast for a 60% chance of rain.
Doesn't look like it will interfere to much with ya'lls game might get some of those showers but really shouldn't affect LA till about 5pm. if they aren't calling off the High School football games here tonight then I don't see how they would ya'lls.
Apparently you missed my previous post. The only explanation was that you were delusional and you confused the humidity & sweat with precipitation. I too was there and became damp. Although it is possible, but highly unlikely, it was raining very near to the stadium and high winds blew a small portion of the precip into the stands...
News of Dorsey's presence in Baton Rouge has reached the center of circulation, weakening and a change of direction began immediately....
At 1pm we have a TD, the new report should be out either at 4 or 5 I cant remember. Anyway at first glance it does not look like much, but there are things that got me a little on edge. 1.) The gulf is extermly warm. 2.) We have not had a really storm in this area of the gulf so the waters are pretty much undisturbed meaning more warm water on top, cold on bottom. After watching that last storm to hit Texas went from a TD to a Strong Cat 1 Hurricane overnight. And this thing is already producing tornados from its outer bands of storms.
The thing that I notice is all the maps of atmospheric moisture they've been showing on the Weather Channel have had nothing but dry air in the south and into the gulf. The storm has to keep moving into that dry air, and I think that's why we're not seeing the strengthening. Hopefully that keeps up.
Yeah I saw that too and thats the one positive. Its so funny last night before I fell alseep they were talking about the Upper level Low was gonna stay with it and keep it sub-tropical and then today it moves. I think they got some guy out back with one of those forked sticks pointing it skyward. Also if this thing was to strengthen we would have zero time to act. Not to get off the topic at hand, but I have always said that THIS type a hurricane to use the lakes as an entry point would be the worse case for the Northshore from Slidell to Springfield. Not to mention the amount of water that would be pushed through without having much land to slow it down.
the storm is at 29.4 North. Baton Rouge is at 30.4 north. the storm is at 85.9 west Baton Rouge is at 91.1 west it's moving northwest and 85% of the rain is on the eastern half of the storm. I agree with the above poster and have no idea how this thing would a. get stronger b. turn enough to greatly affect Baton Rouge. It may hit Baton Rouge, but as long as it does AFTER it hits land, that's all that matters. because a mere depression AFTER it hits land turns into a simple thunderstorm. I spoke with the people in the Athletic Department today and we are playing tomm at 2:30 unless something big-time changes.
