the problem with people that refuse to think isnt that they are boring, its that they are dangerous. there are countries where the inmates run the asylum and its chaos and despair. this is what societies pay when their people are unwilling to think.

when you have a bitch-ass idea like "isnt it cool that a place exists with no cops", the rest of us have to hope that idea doesnt spread and kill many people.

like if a dumb kid goes to a university and learns of marx but cannot think critically enough to see the flaws in the ideas, that kid is dangerous. like a person spreading a virus. its important that the sane folks always argue with the marxist and keep it from spreading. not just because arguing is fun, but because these ideas have terrible terrible consequences.

if, for example the sort of political philosophies held by these folks in seattle spread, it would mean destruction and misery. thats why its so crazy that the local govt wont stop them. apparently the local governments are to stupid too see that if this goes on there would be violence and death, even in a nice part of one of the worlds nicest cities. and then yesterday somebody got killed. and the cops that came to investigate were held up. they cant investigate or stabilize the situation.

but you quote the local leaders who describe this as a local street fair party or whatever, and then withdraw when questioned. that sort of cowardice is irresponsible.
