My thoughts exactly. We will never be able to avoid situations like AZ State not being as strong as we thought they would be. But we are not helping ourselves with I-AA.
If we are to be competing for a national title repeatedly in the forseeable future, it's SOS suicide (not to mention public perception in the polls) to schedule Div. I-AA teams.
I heard on Jimmy Ott today that they did want to play us a few years ago, but our dates we could play other games did not match with them.
I'd like to see LSU go back to scheduling MAC teams again, at the very least. Teams lilke Miami (O), Bowling Green, N Illinois, Toledo...they're at least respectable as opposed to the Div. 1-AAs of the world (or even the Sun Belt teams).
