    Rumors

Fleetwood Mac album: "Rumors". Song on that album, "Tell me Lie, tell me sweet little lies..."

In the 70s, Ara Parseghian was shopping for real estate on Highland Road. In the 80s, it was Lou Holtz. In the 90s, Dennis Erickson. How do these moronic rumors get started? My best guess is that it is Tulane college students sitting in their dorm rooms typing these posts and laughing their a$$es off.

There is no way in heck that SS was in Baton Rouge. Sorry. Your sources are either imaginary, on crack, delusional, or f-ing with you. I sure wish your dumb rumor was true, but we all know it ain't. If you really believe what you're saying, seek professional help immediately. If you're doing this for laughs, allright, ha ha, you got our attention, now crawl back under the rock from whence you came.

I know the type, those that sign up and just read and don't feel the need to post every thought. For what it's worth, I believe you heard what you say you heard. Whether I believe what you heard is another matter, but thanks for sharing it.

Just because Bertman was good baseball coach doesn't mean he's a good hiring AD. Besides, he was only hired as AD to lead the ADepartment through raising ticket prices......not to hire coaches. Skip wasn't the sole person in charge of this hire. The BOS finally got control back and Miles is the horrid result.

We settled for the highest profile coach we could find who would put up with the controlling, political crap from the BOS....plain and simple.

    Logic anyone?

Let's look at this logically. It has been reported that LSU offered the job to Miles. I read an article with quotes from BOS member Charles Weems. So let me get this straight ... LSU is "using" Miles as a smokescreen to cover their real objective: hire Steve Spurrier! A guy with the reputation of Skip Bertman is going to ruin that reputation by purposely deceiving a decent joe like Miles, leading him down the garden path, only to tell him at the last minute, "sorry Les, we've been f'ing with you, we're really going to hire Visor Boy." Boy, that really holds up under scrutiny!

Skip is really lighting up the place in terms of the HR department. For starters, he has a psycho running the basketball team, his first hire is really lighting the world up in baseball and now this yo yo bird hire for football. This is almost as bad as Joe Dean.

You write about politics. When the only female of the good ole boy club got elected last year, I knew LSU was in trouble. And now it is affecting our football program.

With all of the false rumors going on around here, you'll have to excuse me if I don't fall out of my chair in excitement just yet.

For all I know, this athlete-friend of yours is like the kid that lived next door to me growing up that swore up and down he saw Santa's sled flying in the sky one Christmas Eve. Had his mind so set on believing what he wanted to see....

I'll just post what he saw in that Jacksonville paper.... What is also on espn.com:

"Also, rumors that former Florida and current South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier was being wooed by LSU were quashed by the Ol' Ball Coach on Friday afternoon. Spurrier told The Gainesville Sun: "Naw, I've got the ultimate challenge (at South Carolina). LSU, they've already done it, won a national championship and SECs and divisions. I'm not going anywhere. This is my last gig.""

I've now seen at least 3 different people post on different boards that they know someone who has seen Spurrier either at the BR airport, or on the campus. Could easily be just someone reading the one initial post and then claiming to a friend it was them that saw him - but the sightings are piling up.

Steve is in my kitchen right now fixing a leak under the sink. I'll ask him when he finishes if he is going to hang around Baton Rouge to coach LSU when he is done with the plumbing work.

One problem though, the leak is really bad and I am not sure how long it is going to take for him to fix it. Keep checking this thread for updates as I will post the moment he lets me know his answer.

I know what you are thinking, I should ask him now. No way! He is charging me by the minute and I am not going to spend money to find out the answer for you all! I'll ask him when he's done and walking out.

    STAY TUNED!
