Not necessarily. The team w/ the extra game can be evaluated on how they do in that game and their overall body of work. There are always what-ifs and we could go on ad nauseum discussing them. That won't change the fact that the number 2 in the SEC (currently) is going to be better than the number 1 from the very weakest conference.

I don't have a fucking clue who you are or what you like but I sure don't see any logic in your point here either.

The screaming and crying for a playoff is to make sure the top teams all have a shot. If you like "Conference Champions" you should be lobbying to keep the shitty bowl sysem we now have.

Then you'll have teams who get hot at the end of the season but didn't make the conference title game scream bloody murder if a "bubble" team in another division gets bumped into the Top 4 thanks to that extra game. Think UGA 2007. It's a headache that can be easily avoided.

I hear what you are saying and no system will ever be perfect. However, to give a 6 win team a spot over a 10 or 11 win team from a tough conference is just stupid. /rant

It's a valid point. IMO the likelihood of any of the SEC, Pac-12, Big-12ish, or Big-10 producing a 6-loss champ is very, very low. Even the ACC is producing decent champs these days.

Then there's the only good idea Gary Danielson's brain has ever conceived. A 6-team, 3-round playoff with the top 2 seeds getting 1st-round byes.

He's just trying to keep this thread going by being anti. He can't honestly believe that a 6 win team would qualify for a 4 team playoff? NFL rules can't apply to a league (NCAA) with so many teams and divisions (conferences). Again you would have to go to at least a 16 team playoff (home & home) to allow some teams with more than 2 losses in.

You are right that the SEC and such wouldn't likely have a 6 win champ. However, it is very likely that the weakest conference in the country will produce a conf champ that would not be able to compete with a strong conference's no. 2.

I do like the 6 team 3 round scenario.

Don't speak for me. I have been extremely consistent in my point.

Not speaking for anyone. Just giving my opinion which is against the 4 conference champ view point.
