He also stole a bit from a Michigan board a while back, and passed it off as original material . He got in a lot of trouble for that!

Right now, Cowherd and Jon Kincaid are doing the show and it is dedicated to be a benefit show for the Jimmy V foundation. Kincaid said that the LSU fans should be donating more than everyone else b/c of the love that Cowherd has been giving them.

    ...he might be right.:thumb:

I agree. He also said that if Vegas couldn't, then New Orleans couldn't be trusted to provide security for an NBA all star game. This despite the fact that New Orleans has hosted countless Super Bowls and Mardi Gras with no incidents the magnitude of what went down in Vegas. Both of those evernts are much higher profile than an NBA all star game.

He's just one of those no talent hacks who likes to stir controversy to get ratings; which is unimaginative and lacks any real skills.

I like his show. You have to realize he has to say things to make a dollar sometimes. I also like the fact that he admits to being homer unlike other guys who try to cover it.

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I foud it very hurtful at the time and I have pretty thick skin. If I remember correctly he was suggesting things like the Saints move and that N.O. isn't suitable to host the NBA all star game (honestly, if we didn't need the money, I would NOT want o host the NBA allstar game, for the record).

When I think back about it I feel that there was some truth to what he was saying given the state of affairs when he said it. I mean, our state was in utter chaos and to many it looked like were pretty much done. I also think that's pretty poor timing to say those things, kicking us while we're down, but at the time, if you have no emotional attachment to that team you may have thought "those people down there don't need to be worrying about their damn football team when they should be rebuilding". At least I've run into that kind of sttitude around the country on occasion. Hell, my father in law practically said that to me a few months after Katrina and I nearly boiled over. I wanted to kick his ass and drag him down the street in front of his Florida retirement community neighbors by his ear when he did (that was the only time we've ever had any signicant issue, normally I love the guy and we get along great, but it goes to show how differently we experienced those events from how the rest of the country perceived those events).

In any case, I'm not an apologist for people like that, I just think some didn't understand the situation or just how emotional the situation was for the Gulf Coast. But I've gotten over his comments, he's the best national radio guy that gives a damn about college football, and although some see his predictions and such as a way to garner ratings I'm surprised how often he's right about them. That's my $0.02.

I agree, and I used to myself until I was given this contraption that was basically like a Tivo for radio. I can't listen to sports-talk or talk radio live unless I'm in a car. Commercial breaks are like 15 minutes long it seems. I just record the show and either fast forward through commercials or quickly cut them out with an editing tool.
